mowom makes motherhood and nurturing tasks visible, giving them an economic, social and emotional value outside the private sphere.
It is not about perpetuating the roles of carer for women and worker for men, but about equating parenting with a professional job.

Our aim is to...

...make it possible for women who have become mothers to return to a profession they love and for which they have been trained, when they decide and without any penalty.

Collaboration. Equity. Co-responsibility. Respect. Learning.

How do we do it?

With Mothers

Including the time of parenting and nurturing on your CV

We encourage women who have lived or are living this stage to incorporate their care work in their CV, providing free tools to help define their experience. We also invite them to join us in promoting and spreading our message through the publication of the mowom logo to create a great community.

With Companies

Raising awareness among companies and organisations

Companies are necessary agents of change. Therefore, we want to involve them by raising awareness and encouraging them to consider the CVs of women who return to paid work after a period of child-rearing and to incorporate policies that recognise and integrate this reality in order to become more sustainable and fairer organisations.

Raising children empowers a multitude of skills and aptitudes that bring value to companies.

Hello!
I'm Raquel

I'm an industrial engineer and I worked for many years in the automotive industry. But it was a job that was incompatible with my values. After two years on leave, dedicated to training, pregnancy and raising a baby almost exclusively, I found myself with the problem of the gap in my CV. Far from wanting to hide it, I felt I had done a job and wanted to show it.

Inspired by the US website The Pregnancy Pause, and with the aim of recognising and giving visibility to all this time, as well as all the skills acquired, I decided to create mowom.

After a time of testing and reflection, and having found the right support, today I want to encourage other women in the process of including this stage in their CVs.

And also, I want to use my experience as a sustainability consultant to raise awareness and educate companies about the importance of considering these profiles in their selection processes, promoting equality and co-responsibility policies.

“I have included "I'm a mother" in my CV and on Linkedin. I have put it there because it is part of my identity, of who I am right now and I am proud of it and of the time I am dedicating to parenting, while I combine it with my work in my own company.”
